NaNoWriMo 2021 BINGO!

Due to the less-exciting nature of virtual events, we’ve decided to continue something we started last year. If you fill out this bingo card (blackout) and email it to wrimotaurs@gmail.com along with your mailing address, we’ll drop a NaNo 2021 sticker in the mail for you as a prize!

(Can’t fill everything out? This is an honour system – shhhh, we won’t tell!)

NaNo 2019 – Save the Date!

Planning Workshops – Saturday, October 5th – Calgary Central Library – Dynamic Dialogue and Striking Settings – 11:30 and 1:30, respectively. There will be a NaNoWriMo Q&A held at 2:30. Remember, you must register through the library site to reserve a spot, but if you forget, come anyway. There’s lots of room and we really want to get our numbers up this year.

Social Kick-Off – October 27th – evening – Denny’s McKnight, located at 5015 4 St NE and is a whole lot of fun. Come get a dose of NaNo related insanity and excitement. This is a social event only: no need for laptops.

Midnight Kick-Off – October 31st – evening to early morning Nov 1 – Location TBC (likely the Husky House restaurant located at 2525 32 Ave NE). This late night event means we can cheer each other on as we start writing, so bring whatever writing materials you require. NOTE: An ML will NOT be present at this event.

First Day Write In – November 1st – time TBC – Odyssey Coffee House at SAIT. This is a new event for 2019, but hopefully some of you can make it!

Weekday Write-Ins – Wednesday evenings – 5:00 to 9:00 pm – Denny’s McKnight 5015 4 St NE

Weekend Write-Ins – Sundays – November 10th, 17th, and 24th – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Calgary Central Library. You must register through the library to reserve a spot, but if you forget, come anyway.

Marathon Write-In/Push to the FinishSaturday, November 30th – time and location TBC.

Thank Goodness It’s Over (TGIO) – December 1st – time and location TBC. Come on out and celebrate the fact you survived another November. Win or lose, we want to see you. And, if you come out, you will go home with a prize!

NaNo 2018 – Save the Date!

Saturday, October 6th – Planning Workshops – Memorial Park Library

Captivating Characters & Phenomenal Plots along with the usual Q & A after. See the library website for times and descriptions. Remember, you must register through the library site to reserve a spot, but if you forget, come anyway. There’s lots of room and we really want to get our numbers up this year.

Sunday, October 14th  from 7 pm -9 pm – Newcomer’s Night – a whole evening devoted to answering all the questions you have if you are new to NaNo or new to NaNo in Calgary. Remember folks, this event is NOT open to all the Wrimos. Please do not plan to attend unless you are new (or new to Calgary) UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INVITED BY A ML.  Located at the Denny’s McKnight 5015 4 St NE.

Social Kick-Off – October 28th from 6pm – 8pm. This event will be at Boston Pizza Southport, located at 10456 Southport Rd SW and is a whole lot of fun. Come get a dose of NaNo related insanity and excitement. This is a social event only: no need for laptops.

Midnight Kick-Off – October 31st from 10 pm -2 am  at the Boston Pizza Southport, located at 10456 Southport Rd SW. This late night event means we can cheer each other on as we start writing, so bring whatever writing materials you require.

Weekday Write-Ins – This year, they will be Wednesdays from 5 pm – 9 pm. This means Wednesday, November 7, 14, 21 & 28. Located at the Denny’s McKnight 5015 4 St NE

Weekend Write-Ins – This year weekend write-ins will be Sundays. Two are scheduled at  the NEW  Central Library. These are November 4th and 18th. Sessions run from 12:30 pm-2:30 pm & 2:30pm-4:30 pm, but you can register for both. You must register through the library to reserve a spot, but if you forget, come anyway. There’s plenty of room.

Central Library is closed for Remembrance day on November 11th, so that Weekend Write-In will take place at the Calgary IHOP from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Marathon Write-In – Last year’s event at the Odyssey didn’t make enough cash for the venue so we are going back to an old standby. This year, Marathon will be Saturday, November 24th at the Husky House restaurant located at 2525 32 Ave NE from 1:00 – 9:00 pm.

Thank Goodness It’s Over (TGIO) – December 8th this year. We don’t have confirmation of the venue yet, but we will let you know ASAP. We know it’s a bit later in the month than normal, but trust me, you want to celebrate with all your MLs. Come on out and celebrate the fact you survived another November. Win or lose, we want to see you. And, if you come out, you will go home with a prize!
